Are you one?

Aries (March 21 to April 19)Starting with the fire sign, Aries’ weakness is their anger and their explosive reaction. They are known as the ’emperor’. They don’t believe in yelling or ignoring the unfair, they just hit and prove their superiority by showing their emperorship. Their stubborn and head strong nature may prove to be destructive.

Their weaknesses are that they have a deep desire to rule over all, they are stubborn in believing themselves and excessively use their power. Staying in the limelight is fine, but hogging it all the time is not.

Libra (September 23 to October 22)Libra gets confused all the time. Once in a while is fine, but to be indecisive whenever you ask something can be a frustrating thing to experience. They may be critical without paying heed to others’ emotions.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)They can be very vindictive as an enemy, so try not to bring out the worst in Scorpio. Their inability to make the right decision in love is their biggest weakness. They are stubborn too.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): They get distracted very easily and also change their personality according to the situation. They have this desire to do too many things together, which can lead to problems later. They forget about all the practical things in the world.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19) : Capricorn is too detached from reality and may also appear cold when in love. They are slow learners who take their time before adapting to something new.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): Aquarius desires freedom too much and believes in doing things alone. They have a quality of being coolly sarcastic and become highly impatient when they are hungry.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)They are not very determined and excessively trust others. Pisceans are most difficult to understand. They are extremely sensitive and also very gullible. People may take advantage of Pisces’ naivete.

Super Moon Equals Super Havoc?

The so called “Supermoon of March 2011” when the moon is at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit at the same time it is full, is drawing nigh.

The moon is at an average of 238,000 miles from the Earth. During the Supermoon, it will be 221,567 miles from the Earth.

However, along with the Supermoon of March 2011 have come all sorts of dire predictions of the havoc it will allegedly cause. For instance, there is a theory that the gravity of the Supermoon will cause all sorts of seismic events on Earth. Some have even pointed to the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that has devastated northeastern Japan as evidence.

While the gravitational pull of the moon does have a slight effect on tectonic plates due to tidal forces, there is zero evidence it causes earthquakes. Indeed, according to Natalie Wolchover, writing for “Life’s Little Mysteries,” the theory doesn’t even make sense in relation to the Japan event. The Japan earthquake occurred Friday, a week after the new moon and a week before the Supermoon, when tidal forces caused by the moon’s gravitational pull are at their weakest.

In any case, seismic events do not follow a lunar cycle. The stresses that cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions build up over decades or even centuries before causing catastrophe, death and mayhem. The movement of tectonic plates, causing pressure to build up over time, and not anything celestial causes these things.

The theory that the Supermoon was going to cause seismic havoc on Earth was first advanced by an astrologer named Richard Nolle. Nolle predicted the Supermoon would cause earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and storms. Astrology is not, however, science. It was amusing to think in the Middle Ages that the alignment of the stars, the planets and the moon somehow influenced events on Earth down to the minute course of peoples’ lives. Most people know better in the 21st century.

Previously the Super moon’s have happened in the years like 1955, 1974, 1992, 2005.

In all these times here has been lot of disasters in nature such as heavy winds, tides, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods etc.

But of course, we all know this isn’t connected to the Super Moon phenomenon. What do you think?

The 13th Sign of Zodiac

Huwaaat??? There’s a new ZODIAC SIGN?

I came across this article: (Excerpt from here)

If you look to your horoscope for a preview of your day, look again: You’re probably following somebody else’s supposed fate.

Thanks to Earth’s wobble, astrological signs are, well, bunk. (Or even more bunk than you might expect.) Astrological signs are determined by the position of the sun relative to certain constellations on a person’s day of birth. The problem is, the positions were determined more than 2,000 years ago. Nowadays, the stars have shifted in the night sky so much that horoscope signs are nearly a month off.

“Astrology tells us that the sun is in one position, whereas astronomy tells us it’s in another position,” said Joe Rao, SPACE.com’s skywatching columnist and a lecturer at New York’s Hayden Planetarium.

The shift is caused by precession, the wobble in the Earth’s axis caused by the gravitational attraction of the moon to the Earth’s equator. Precession popped into the spotlight this week after Minnesota Planetarium Society board member Parke Kunkle told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune about the gap between the astrological and the astronomical view. The story spread around the Internet quickly, but it’s actually old news, Rao said.

Very old news.

“The earliest known astronomer to recognize and assess the movement of precession was Aristarchus of Samos, who lived around 280 B.C.,” Rao told LiveScience.

The attention triggered by his interview with the newspaper has been “astounding.” Kunkle, who teaches astronomy at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, told Livescience, He gave the interview at the request of the paper to discuss precession, and the science he described is centuries old, he said.

“Bombshell dropped?” Kunkle said. “Well, no, not really.”

Here’s what astronomers know: The Earth is like a wobbly top. As it rotates, its axis swings in a circle, pointing in different directions. As the Earth’s position shifts, so does our perspective of the night sky.

For example, Rao said, we take the North Star, Polaris, for granted. It’s the star most closely aligned with Earth’s North Pole. But back when the pyramids were constructed, the star that aligned with the North Pole wasn’t Polaris at all: It was a star in the constellation Draco called Thuban. In 12,000 years, Earth’s North Star will be Vega, the brightest star in the constellation Lyra.

The complete rotation takes 26,000 years, Rao said.

“Everything in the sky is in flux,” he said.

So here are the “real” dates of astrological signs, according to astronomers:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.

Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.

Pisces: March 11-April 18.

Aries: April 18-May 13.

Taurus: May 13-June 21.

Gemini: June 21-July 20.

Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.

Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.

Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.

Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.

Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.

Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

The list includes Ophiuchus, a formation the ancient Babylonians discarded because they wanted 12 star signs, not 13. That’s yet another example of how astrologers cherry-pick and ignore astronomical observations, Rao said.

I have to admit, I checked the horoscope once in a while and astrology has been one of my fascinations. Born on the 16th of November, I’m under the sign of the Scorpio, but if a 13th sign really existed, then I would have been a LIBRAN! WTH! I’ve always believed I have the traits of a true SCORPION..hahahaha

Anyone born under the sign of Ophiuchus?
